Graduate Programs in Health Sciences

The program in Health sciences is associated to the Medicine II evaluation area of CAPES and has the 6 concept (in a scale of maximum 7). The program has two areas of concentration:

  • Cellular and molecular biology;
  • Infectious and parasitic diseases.

 

The aims of the program are:

  • In the master, the deepening of technical and academic knowledge in health sciences, enabling the formation of teaching staff for higher education and the lato sensu graduate programs, as well as the development of skills to perform research in the concentration areas of the program and integration of knowledge in these areas, when needed.
  • In the PhD, the development of ability to conduct independent and original research in the areas of concentration of the program, which allow the formation of professionals able to perform their tasks in research centers and universities, acting as teachers and/or researchers.
