The establishment of an Institute that advances the development of vaccines that prevent diseases that are endemic in our country will certainly contribute towards improving public health standards and therefore local economical development. In addition, prevention of diseases of veterinary importance may prevent important economical losses. We selected diseases of medical and/or veterinary importance to perform pre-clinical trials, all considered neglected, because they are not a health problem in the First World Countries and there is no obvious economical interest for a commercial product.
